Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane has also been shown to interact with trimethylolpropane, which is another antioxidant, and this interaction may affect the effectiveness of each agent. Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane inhibits lipid peroxidation by inhibiting the oxidation of fatty acids and hydroxyl groups on proteins.

Usage:
Trimethylolpropane CAS NO: 77-99-6 is mainly used to produce polyester and polyurethane products, as well as uv coatings and synthetic lubricants. It is widely used in alkyd resin, polyurethane foam plastics, polyester resin, glass steel and advanced lubrication. It is an important raw material for high quality industrial resin, such as saturated polyester, alkyd resin, polyurethane, radiation curing monomer/low-polymer, etc. TMP is also used for rosin ester. PVC stabilizer production and pigment surface treatment agents, explosives and other fine chemicals raw materials.
