1. Transparency and Appearance
PETG is a non-crystalline copolyester, which makes the products made of it highly transparent. Its transparency is comparable to that of glass, allowing light to pass through unimpeded, and performs well in application scenarios with high transparency requirements, such as cosmetic packaging, display racks, etc. Moreover, the surface of PETG material is smooth, the texture is excellent, and the appearance gives people a high-end and exquisite feeling.

 

(2) Mechanical properties
In terms of mechanical properties, PETG exhibits excellent impact resistance. Compared with some other traditional plastics, it is not easy to break or damage when subjected to external impact, which makes it particularly suitable for molding thick-walled transparent products. Even in complex use environments, it can maintain good structural integrity. In addition, the PETG molecular chain has good flexibility and elasticity, which gives the material a certain degree of deformability and will not break easily when subjected to a certain degree of bending or stretching.

(4) Processing performance and thermal performance
PETG has a relatively low melting point, which makes it require less energy during processing and the processing technology is relatively simple. It can be formed by a variety of processing methods such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc., and during the processing, the material has good fluidity and can accurately fill the mold to produce products with complex shapes and precise dimensions. However, PETG also has some limitations in thermal performance. For example, it is not resistant to high temperatures and is not suitable for extreme thermal environments such as high-temperature boiling, and may soften and deform to a certain extent in high-temperature environments. In addition, PETG material has a certain degree of water absorption, which may cause dimensional changes and performance degradation after water absorption. Attention should be paid to the control of environmental humidity during use and storage.
