Synthesis of Methyl 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzoate CAS NO:139102-34-4 :

Methyl 4-bromo-2-methoxybenzoate was synthesized from 4-bromo-2-fluorotoluene by bromination and hydrolysis to give 4-bromo-2-fluorobenzaldehyde, which was subjected to cyanidation, methoxylation, hydrolysis and esterifi cation with an overall yield of about 47% and purity of 99.8%(by GC).
