Description of 2,5-Bis(5-tert-butyl-benzoxazol-2-yl)thiophene CAS NO: 7128-64-5
2,5-Bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazolyl)thiophene CAS NO: 7128-64-5 has been synthesized to be a substrate for the fabrication of polymer films. The transport properties of this compound have been studied and it was found that 2,5-bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazolyl)thiophene is not soluble in water or ethanol. It is insoluble in hydroxyl group containing compounds such as calcium stearate, but can be dissolved in cationic polymers such as polyacrylamide. This molecule also has enzyme inhibitor activity and can inhibit polymerization of cationic surfactants. 2,5-Bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazolyl)thiophene is fluorescent and emits light when excited by a laser or other light source.
