The reaction of 1,7-bis-(hydroxy(dimethyl)silylmethyl)-m-carborane

and α,ω-diaminooligodiorganosiloxanes has been investigated .The reaction is accomparized by the formation of polydiorganosiloxanes with a strictly regular distribution of 1,7-bis-(dimethylsilylmethyl)-m-carborane CAS: 23924-78-9 units in the chain. By varying the length of the diorganosiloxane block between these units, and the type of organic radicals linked to silicon atoms, it is possible to alter the mechanical properties of the polymers within wide limits.
