Product Description

There are two isomers.Cis is oily, the boiling point of 260 ~ 262 ℃, melting point 14 ~ 18 ℃;Trans of crystals, the boiling point 266 ℃, melting point 33 ℃, (d420) 1.087.The industrial products are a mixture of cis-trans, light yellow and slightly viscous clear liquid, with aroma of carnation and eugenol, but more elegant, sweet and soft caramel.The boiling point of 266 ℃.Oxidized to vanillin.Soluble in ethanol, ether, most non-volatile oil and propylene glycol, soluble in mineral oil turbidity, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in glycerol.

Natural products are found in cloves, nutmeg, yilan oil, etc.

Function & Application

It is found in many kinds of essential oils, used for preparing carnation and Oriental flavor, and also used as a toner of isoeugenol.

Widely used in carnation, rose, lilac, yilan and other floral flavor as a deodorant and can be given special style. It is suitable for lotella type (perfume), Oriental type, octagonal type and wood type essence. Occasionally used as an octyl coordination agent in vanilla bean, chocolate and other food flavor, tobacco flavor is also used.

Isoeugenol CAS NO: 97-54-1 is a phenylpropene, a propenyl-substituted guaiacol. A phenylpropanoid, it occurs in the essential oils of plants such as ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata). It can be synthesized from eugenol and has been used in the manufacture of vanillin. It may occur as either the cis (Z) or trans (E) isomer. Trans (E) isoeugenol is crystalline while cis (Z) isoeugenol is a liquid.
